Critical Discourse Analysis, language, hegemony and gender in relationAbstrak
This study examines the relationship between language, hegemony and gender in relation to society and also the impact that occurs or can be seen from social media on society and individuals. It explores how language, hegemony and gender play major roles in social life in modern society. This study aims to explore language, hegemony and gender, which function to provide a value for people's views on people in different generations, young or old, or if it leads to an increase in the value of a perspective on one thing, such as gender. Empirical data were obtained from four case studies involving participant observation and research questions. The qualitative data obtained shows that language, hegemony and gender have a negative as well as positive impact on social interactions between individuals and the values of society's perspective. First, it is revealed that language and gender are immersed in the minds of the people and enter into their subconscious to become a benchmark for their use as an assessment. Second, it is known that there is a close correlation between language, hegemony and gender in social interactions on social media as well as those that occur directly in society. In addition, the main findings arising from the research process found that language, hegemony and gender lead to increased distrust of each social individual and the privatization of people's lives and looked down on those who are unable to have good abilities.
