THE REASONS WHY CODE SWITCHING AFFECTS THE CHANGES OF LANGUAGE IN THE ENGLISH LITERATURE STUDENTS

Language changes is one of an interesting lessons to study. Nowdays, in this era many languages exist in the world and it is makes people tend to learn new languages. Such as in our life, sometimes we meet and communicate with other people that have different languages with us. Language differences become one of the obstacles in the process of communication in society. Language itself is one of the most important communication tools for humans, it can be spoken or written, language also consists of the use of structured words. The use of language must be organized or structured neatly and easily to understood so that there is no misunderstanding or miscommunication. The phenomenon of learning new languages leads to another phenomenon; Code Switching. The aim of this researches is to know how Code Switching changes the languages in English Literature students. Code Switching become the most intriguing in sociolinguistics because it is when the speaker wants to switch their language in two or more languages. The researcher had observed four students of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia major English Literature. Consists of two male and two females. The main discussion divided unto three there are : (1) The used of Code Switching in the daily conversations; (2) Code Switching in speaking class; (3) The important things to changes and mixes the languages. Therefore the result of this researches to find the used of Code Switching in English Literature students. The implication is showing for the college students especially Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia students.
